From our oven to your table — fresh sourdough, seasonal preserves, and the everyday essentials your neighbors trust, right here on Route 125.
"The kind of store where the owner knows your name, the bread is still warm, and you always leave with something you didn't come for."
Hubbard's Country Store has stood on Vermont Route 125 since 1938 — through wars, harvests, blizzards, and everything in between. What started as a one-room general store has grown into the place locals come for fresh bread, pantry staples, and the kind of conversation you won't find anywhere else.
We bake our sourdough and rolls every morning. Our cheese and meat cases are stocked from farms you can drive to in twenty minutes. And our shelves carry the everyday things — coffee, milk, hardware, greeting cards — so you don't have to drive into town for them.
Three generations of the Hubbard family have kept this door open and this oven hot. That's not marketing. That's just how it's always been.

Everything you need, done right. Fresh baked goods every morning, quality groceries, and the local goods that make this store worth the stop.
Sourdough loaves, cinnamon rolls, pie crusts, and daily specials — all mixed, proofed, and baked in-house before dawn.
Coffee, milk, eggs, pasta, and the everyday staples. We carry what our neighbors actually use — no gimmicks, no markups for novelty.
Sliced to order — Vermont cheddar, local ham, salumi from nearby farms. Ask about our weekly cheese specials.
Maple syrup from local sugarers, apple butter in autumn, holiday gift baskets in December. We follow the seasons the way Vermont does.
Greeting cards, candles, local art, hardware basics, and the little things that make a house a home. Good gifts, picked with care.
Fresh-brewed coffee, always. Grab a cup, stay a minute, and catch up on what's happening in town. It's the best free entertainment in Hancock.
We don't just sell things. We know your order, remember your dog's name, and save the paper when you're running late.
We host fundraisers, support the 4-H club, and put up the holiday display every December. This store shows up for this town.
Our cheese, eggs, and seasonal produce come from farms within twenty miles. When you buy from us, local farmers eat too.
The staff here has been coming to this store for decades. They'll help you find what you need and then ask about your grandkids.
