"The kind of store where the owner knows your name, the bread is still warm, and you always leave with something you didn't come for."

Our Story

Not just a store.
The heart of Hancock.

Hubbard's Country Store has stood on Vermont Route 125 since 1938 — through wars, harvests, blizzards, and everything in between. What started as a one-room general store has grown into the place locals come for fresh bread, pantry staples, and the kind of conversation you won't find anywhere else.

We bake our sourdough and rolls every morning. Our cheese and meat cases are stocked from farms you can drive to in twenty minutes. And our shelves carry the everyday things — coffee, milk, hardware, greeting cards — so you don't have to drive into town for them.

Three generations of the Hubbard family have kept this door open and this oven hot. That's not marketing. That's just how it's always been.

More than a store —
a gathering place.

We don't just sell things. We know your order, remember your dog's name, and save the paper when you're running late.

Local Events

We host fundraisers, support the 4-H club, and put up the holiday display every December. This store shows up for this town.

Farm Partnerships

Our cheese, eggs, and seasonal produce come from farms within twenty miles. When you buy from us, local farmers eat too.

Just Good People

The staff here has been coming to this store for decades. They'll help you find what you need and then ask about your grandkids.
